Our Story
Why Chalo exists.
Chalo started with a belief: that the countryside outside Lilongwe could hold something beautiful, intentional, and entirely its own.
The farm came first. Then Harvest Table. Then the villas. Each piece grew from the land and the people who tend it — not from a blueprint copied from somewhere else.
We grow vegetables, herbs, chillies, and fish. We do not try to be a wine estate. We are a farming estate. The land decides what we cook, what we serve, and what the seasons bring. That is not a limitation. It is the category.

Chalo is physical proof. Proof that something beautiful, intentional, elegant, and world-class can be built in Malawi.
Guests are not only buying a room or a meal. They are buying participation in that proof. The villas are evidence. The restaurant is evidence. The farm is evidence. The estate itself is evidence.
Everything we do reinforces this truth.
The product is never just the product. The product is evidence of a philosophy.
People do not travel to a store because of the clothing — they travel because the store represents proof that a vision was real.
